The cost of storage for 10,000 frames has almost certainly dropped.  K100 raw 
files were 10MB K-1 raw files are 32MB, a factor of three in size over 12 
years, costs of hard drives have gone down more than that.

There’s also a good argument for replacing your hard drives sooner than 
nominally necessary because you never know when they’ll fail or just lose some 
data.
