I had two species of bamboo. Both as screening. One species blossomed and they all died (I read they blossom in sync worldwide). The other one turned out to be a real spreader. I had to chop it to pieces with the heaviest axe I could find and remove the pavement, those roots extend to 5 meter or more. Removing concrete is easier, at least it is gone once removed (unlike Japanese Knotweed)
