Which filter, though? One would want to lower the contrast a little, but not by making the whole scene flat. An ND, perhaps, or, more likely , a polarising filter to cool the highlights. A thought, do they work on digital: I haven't sed one myself since I was mainly shooting film? I often fix this issue in PP, which of course is much easier!
