She's a teenager now isn't she? (IIRC, my niece is the same age, born in 2003 wasn't it?)

That photo ... I bet the sound (kids having fun) was wonderful. Nowadays I don't get to hear enough of it.

We never got to do much sledding when I was young enough to enjoy it. And I don't think the kids around here get much either.

We don't get enough snow that it would pack well enough to make a sledding area on grass.

The city (Durham or Raleigh) did sometimes close off streets for sledding if we got snow, and they would stay closed as long as the snow lasted (2 -3 days max), but it wouldn't be long before there was only pavement again.
