Congrats, happy birthday. Though I don't own a KP it would also my
choice based on all positive experiences from others.
The long awaited K3 III will be much more expensive and it lacks a
tilted screen.

currently being constructed or even a subset of them have this
problem. I emailed Pentax about the K-70 shutter mechanism and their
reply simply stated "We are not aware of that issue."
Whilst of course a new K-70 may be fine, I decided not to risk it. I
bought a KP, or rather my wife bought it and it is waiting for me for
my birthday, or rather I'm waiting impatiently for it...
