LArry Thanks for that... I had thought we were on the side road off of
I-40 when I took that.. which was 66.. but we did take I-10 and the
southern route at one point.. . I know Valentine was right though
because I had it in my notes that I wrote at the time... unless your
source was mistaken or 90 used to be 66.
This is one thing I want to be correct about!

Very cool. I did note that it said Valentine Tx on old Route 66. Having taken
66 (get all sporty on interstate forty) at least as far as Amarillo on my way
to my sister’s place in North TX, I looked up Valentine TX and it seems to be
on hwy 90, which is at the far South West end of TX a bit south of I-10.
