I am sure all of you are tired of hearing about and seeing images of my Monarchs. You will be glad to know I have decided to try something quite different! Well, Perhaps not THAT different. Here are a few initial snaps of my new Black Swallowtail caterpillars. They are more difficult to find and photograph because they feed on parsley, which has a lot more places to hide than milkweed. (They also feed and lay eggs on Rue, but I want to leave the Rue that I planted in our butterfly garden as places where they can lay eggs after they are released). http://dan-matyola.squarespace.com/danmatyolas-pesos/2021/7/29/black K-5 IIs, smc FA100 mm Macro F 2.8 and smc DA 35 mm Macro F 2.8 Limited.
