I recently mentioned that I had been thinking of getting a u4/3 camera to carry on my bike rather than the K-3. Godfrey replied that he had a Gx9 and a couple of lenses that he was willing to get rid of to lighten his load. As one would expect of him, all of the gear was in immaculate shape.
Some photos of the camera, and a couple of it next to the K-3 with 18-270 https://photos.app.goo.gl/3EFqnwQmnmik8QR26 It looks like it will be a LOT easier to carry on my bike. For my first couple of photos I used the PK adapter with my mf adaptall 90/2.5 macro, picked a camellia off the ground in my front yard and grabbed a couple of quick snaps. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/albums/72177720298050194 At least in decent light, the image quality is just fine. It’s not the direction that I thought I’d go with u4/3, I was looking at the Oly Omd-m5, but the goal was something to carry on my bike, not something to replace my Pentaxes for more serious work, and I think it should do well for that. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in features. Trying to find anything in the maze of menus is an epic search. And there are things about the UI that I am less than thrilled about, and a bunch of things I don’t see much use for. However, there were a couple of interesting surprises, like the utility of the touch screen. -- Larry Colen l...@red4est.com -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to pdml-le...@pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
