My first Pentax was a Spotmatic II bought (along with a 50mm/f1.4) with my first paycheck from my first full-time job. I moved to a K-mount with an MX (stil my favourite Pentax film body), adding an ME and a few more lenses on an overnight stopover in Singapore while on my way from England to a one-year assignment in New Zealand. I eventually moved into the auto-focus world with a PZ-1p, and when the *ist-D came along I took my first step into the digital world. I eventually moved to a K10D, and then to a K-5, adding a variety of lenses over the years. Some four years ago, after much deliberation, I decided that for the kind of photography I expected to be doing I would probably do better with a micro 4/3 body, and bought myself an Olympus M1X along with the 12-100 and 40-150 zooms. Those (along with a 2xTC) gave me about as much versatility as I had with my entire range of Pentax lenses, but weighed a great deal less! The one thing I didn't have was a good backup body, but when a local camera shop put a new-in-box M1X on sale last year at half the Olympus list price I was even able to take care of that problem... -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
