At the latitude of Riverside it might have been possible to get photos if I had driven several hours East to get to some dark skies. In Riverside, between dust, pollution and light pollution it's tough to see anything in the sky less bright than the moon. Assuming that there aren't clouds. I don't remember what it was like last night, but today if I look for the bright smear in the sky marked by the sun, that is just barely too bright to look at directly.
