A friend played at a mutual friend's restaurant last night. It being time they had a band here, it was my first chance to shoot, so I had to take a few to get a feel for the venue, in case there was something I *needed* to shoot later. Practice and all that.
The music was good. Solid blues and related. The leader of the band is Rabbi Blue, and yes I was told he really is a rabbi. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/55225443015/in/album-72177720333268238 The bass player is Marwan, pretty photogenic too: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/55224136777/in/album-72177720333268238 The full album is at https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/albums/72177720333268238/ I think everything was shot either FA 85/1.4 on K-3III or DFA 24-70 on K1. The 85 doesn't quite have the magic pixie dust of the 77 ltd, but the little bit of extra reach and speed can help. My friend Ruben, who played harmonica, is also a photographer. His big thing is light painting. https://www.rmphotogallery.com/ I was pretty happy when I realized I could use one of those annoying lights in the background for some rim lighting https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/55225210928/in/album-72177720333268238 __ Larry Colen from Lothlorien [email protected] -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
