Me, too. I've been away for a week in England, and I come back to find
this hotbed of controversy.

Just to mention, I finally got to shoot extensively (about 30 rolls)
with the MZ-S. The camera worked perfectly, and I thoroughly enjoyed
using it. About five rolls have stuff we needed for my daughter's Latin
class project (the Roman baths at Bath) and we had them processed
yesterday at the Walmart one-hour wonder. The results were wonderful,
so I know the camera performed well. My standards for comparison, BTW,
were an MV and a ZX-7, so the MZ-S is the best camera I have ever
owned/used. Interestingly, I was in a camera shop and the guy there let
me handle an F100 and an EOS-3. God, those things are HUGE compared to
the MZ-S, even with the grip. Since I don't have big hands, I clearly
made a good choice. As far as I'm concerned, however, they might as
well simply incorporate the grip and make a bigger camera. I had plenty
of battery power this way and it was still smaller than most other
cameras.

Please note that I'm not trying to be controversial. I've never used a
PZ-1p or any of the Z series bodies. I'm just expressing my own
pleasure at the performance of the MZ-S.

I'm jumping into this thread very late (just having gotten back from
vacation), and I know I'm taking Bill's comments out of context. I
also
know that we're talking about a 35mm Flagship.

I just wanted to mention that Pentax makes medium format "pro"
cameras.
Of course, the fact that N**** and C**** don't make medium formats
helps...

regards,
frank
