Cliff, I have this lens. I've only had it a short while though. It seems very heavy for the apparent construction materials. I got it because it was cheep ($125 shipped from KEH)and I like it's range. It seems to hunt a bit more than my F35-80 and the manual focus feel is nothing short of terrible. I've only taken a bunch of snapshots so far, no real sharpness tests or anything. I'm always quick to blame those problems on myself anyway... I understand the list's opinion of this lens to be less than stellar though.
