i had a close look at the 2002 Product Lineup brochure they were giving away at PhotoPlus Expo today and it has on the the back of it Copyright (c) 2002 Phoenix Technologies Ltd. aren't these the people that make Phoenix 3rd party camera lenses for cheap, like less than Vivitar?
