I figured I would take advantage of the break at Ironman Florida, they are out on a 112-mile bike ride, to download the PDML.
I am working with the media, but have not had much time to check out the photographic gear. The local media is using digital - Kodak (Nikon/Canon) and Canon. There are quite a few shooters out here. The photographers doing the participants photos (Action Sports International) would have loved to have shot digitally (Nikon D1H) but the local lab cannot accomodate that workflow. The lab owner wants to go that route eventually, but the money just is not there at the moment. Anyway, they are shooting Nikon F2 for all their gear. It is interesting to watch them set up their marks and tape the manual focus lenses in place. I am carrying an MZ-S and an LX (normal skin.) I have a full contingency of lenses in the car, but I have decided to just carry the 31/1.8 and 77/1.8 Limited lenses. Taking mostly shots of volunteers in action. I am shooting ASA 100 color slides in the MZ-S and b&w film in the LX. Now you know what I am doing today, what is everyone up to? Not looking forward to the 230 messages of the PDML that await me currently... Happy shooting, César Panama City, Florida
