you probably could try to move those common classes to separate plugin and make 
java and php plugins depend on it.
Features are ultimately those things that show up in p2 UI when somebody 
connects to your update site, so you probably want to have only clear choice 
between two features (java and php) and no other features.

I have an eclipse plugin project one for java and another for PHP. Both have 
some classes in common.
Right now I am creating two separate feature projects for both of them. Is 
there a way to separate out the common classes and make a feature. Then have 
two dependent feature one each for java and php.
