It has some very similar goals.  I kind of regret not having more direct
involvement with that project.

They originally diverged because we chose to use an existing benchmark
harness that already existed inside of IBM.  It was much more
simplistic, and was much easier to approach than STP, which was also
much more mature at the time.  

Anyway, I think there's some talk now of a "test API" to at least allow
the two projects to collaborate some more.
