Greetings all,

Hope everyone is enjoying the extended weekend.

About a month ago, some of us had expressed a desire to contribute/participate in our booth for OSCON here in Portland at the Oregon Convention Center during the first week of August.

Projects either in progress or planned are:

- demonstrate use of the PCI pcHDTV High Definition TV tuner card on a Linux host with functionality such as watch High Definition TV, pause/playback live TV, capture/record and playback of High Definition TV ( high resolution video and surround sound )

- iPod and Linux: both using Linux to manage music content on the iPod and installing Linux on iPod and dual booting Linux/iPod'x native OS. Demonstrate additional functionality available on iPod Linux that either does not exist with the native OS or requires high cost accessories (that are not required if running Linux on the iPod )

- a bootable CD, customized knoppix with the modifications we use for the pcHDTV card, Demonstrate by booting from this CD and showing off watch High Definition TV functionality, channel surfing. We need volunteers for burning Cds, labeling. If we run out of CDs at OSCON, it would be great to have a group of volunteers off-site and on call for potential re-supply effort.

Anyone wanting to contribute to any or all of the above is welcome to participate.

If you've already done any of the above, it would be great to benefit from what you know.

Let me know if you want to participate in any of these, and I can give you details of what has been accomplished so far.

regards,

Rodney
