Confusion happens, especially at large events. Probably some people will have their names misspelled on their passes. Some others may not receive their passes at all. They may promise pudding for lunch and serve apples instead. Such is the way of large events and the world in general. It may be rather "geeky" to try to solve every perceived problem, but most people just find it annoying. I'm glad you caught the OSCON error, lest credit go to the wrong parties. Of course, that assumes that anyone is doing it for credit. Personally they could credit it to Ghandi for all I care, but perhaps there is someone who is doing it for the fame it will bring to their LUG of choice (and it *is* true that setting up a booth at OSCON will get you both a handshake from Linux and a handjob from Nihilist, so there's always that). > Also, Joshua Drake didn't realize that the indefinite article had been > adopted some time back. My raising the issue helped to educate him. Did you ask him if he had a desire to be educated? Or did you just assume that you were doing him a favor? In my experience, JD avoids education at all costs. He's probably huddled on the shower floor this very minute, trying to wash it all away. Hell, I may join him. Joking aside, the one-pony show is old. We all know the difference. When people show up at PDXLUG meetings, they are invariably informed that there is a second, more prestigious LUG elsewhere. Of course, we point them to http://www.plug.org (that *is* PLUG's website I take it, since names and letters are so damn important).
