I just recently (about a week ago) loaded up the pdx.rb project and set up
my dev environment as described in the docs. I wanted to pitch in and do some work on things over the next few weeks,

Great!

I was going to sign up for some things in the TODO
doc, but I can't tell if this is current or not. There are a couple of items
in there with names that don't appear to have been worked on recently. Is
this list still reflective of what needs to be done?

Yes. The TODO list is up to date. So is the IDEAS list. If something is [claimed], but it hasn't been done, it is probably because they had eyes bigger than their stomachs (or something, bad analogy, sorry).

If you want to work on something that is claimed, just jump on IRC (irc.freenode.net/#pdx.rb), and ask he-who-claimed-it what's up.

As for contributing,
what is the process? Should I just make my changes and then submit the diffs?

There isn't really a system for this. If you show up at a hackfest (or monthly meeting) and ask for an account, there will probably be someone who can do this for you. In the interim, you can make patches and submit them here (on the dev-list).

Beyond that, are there any ideas of when this will go live?

Soon! We wanted to make it live a little over a week ago, but Robby was out of town and we needed his rootness. Lennon recently proposed that we go live once we fix the remaining url fishing holes, I think this is a fine compromise. He has claimed fixing of the holes, but if you want to do it, just ask him or something.

I'd like to
contribute and maybe help get it ready to go out there, but I hate to see
things stagnate.

Me too! Anything that you can do to help is greatly appreciated. I for one am swamped with schoolwork right now, so I don't have much time for this project. In about a week and a half I will have lots more time.
