It also pays to check the offending components in the library editor. Make sure
the reference has been set somewhere in the component, easy to forget to do! If
the reference is a long way from the component, the PCB will load them with a
ridiculous offset, making editing impossible!

Cheers
Harry

Leonard,
on some occasions Matt's solution hasn't worked for me. So there is a
variation that will work if Matt's doesn't already.

Select All, Deselect Inside Area to the components/items which are visible on
the screen.

Sometimes Select All is the only selection that will grab the items off the edge
of the screen.

Sincerely,

Matt & Terry,

Both of those look like they should work. THANKS.

Hi Len:

I've experienced similar. The solution is to zoom all the way out, and
choose select outside area. Draw the rectangle around all the objects
you can see, this will mean that you have selected those that are
outside the area. Now move selection, and you should be able to drag
them to an area you can see.

Subject: [PEDA] Parts being placed too low... can't scroll down that
far!

Hi

This is the first time I've encountered this one. Im using Protel99SE
(SP6) on a Windows 2000 system, and never seen this before...

When doing a "Design Update" to get from the schematic world to the PCB
layout, all the parts are being placed off-board to the right, as usual,
but some of them are so low that it's impossible to scroll down that
far. The scroll bar on the right of the raster looks like I should be
able to scroll down (about 1/2" of space there), but it seems impossible
to get there. I've tried all the usual... zoom fit/zoom document, and
all the pushbuttons I can find, but no good.

Has anyone else ever encountered this?

Wierd.

Thanks,
Len
