Since the problem went away after you deleted a polygon, it may be caused by
insufficient memory on your PC.  Polygons are in fact areas filled by a lot
of wires, it need a lot of meory to process. I guess you could check the
virtual memory settings of your windows firstly, try to increase it.  You
could also specify the polygon as a non-hatched polygon which needs less
meory.

If the problem remains, it would be some other problem, may be error in you
Protel program which may be fixed by re-installing the software.

My colleague have a multi-layer board, When run DRC to check un-routed net
constraints, P99se crashed, But if I delete a polygon on top layer, DRC runs
well. does anyone could show me what's the problem with the polygon. there
are 3 polygons on top layer, two DGND, another one is GND.
