I just wanted to list my resolution to my freezing software in DXP 2004 SP3. I have search all archives and tried everything to stop a freezing action from happening every time I would drag or move components in my design during placement. I imported this design from 99SE and I have a lot of isolated circuits for gate drives which have their own polygon planes top and bottom. I was revising this design because of new Altera and Cyclone FPGAs. Anyway I simply - "converted hatched polygons to Solid" BAM! Problem fixed. I am Happy again! Also I have a link for anyone having speed problems that might help you.
