Garth,
Actually if you read the 99SE manual carefully you will find the manual
states 255 characters. Through my own experience I found 14 worked in the case
where I was having problems with the synch/updates. I can't come up with the
page that mentions the 12 characters, now I am wondering if it was actually on
P98, I don't have P98 manual available to check.

Brad...

Thats interesting about the >14 length footprint names. I have started using
IPC names for my footprints, and some of them can be quite long. Haven't
noticed anything untoward so far though. Oh well... fingers crossed!!

Cheers,
Gareth de Mar.
