thanks all
$600 is out of my reach for a video card

my local white box supplier found something from nvidia for about $180
with dual DVI outputs, i guess i will do that and tell you how it works

BTW & OT
after the recent WIN2K virus scare
i patched all by boxes (7) to the latest SP's from MS

most were at SP2 and the process was very tedious with up to 6 download and reboot cycles to get it all done

at the end of the process one of the machines morphed itself into a doorstop - this is what was driving this quest

oh well, it was more than 2-3 yrs old

I love my nVIDIA have a Dell workstation so checked to see what version
dual monitor it would take and lucky for me it was an older NVIDIA card that
sells considerably discounted from it's original price. Currently it is
working with 1 FP and 1CRT (with converter plug). The card is the nVIDIA

Depends on what you're looking for...

My preference is Nvidia-based cards, as I personally, in my opinion, it ain't the truth but my truth for me, that Nvidia processor-based video cards offer the best price vs performance. I have been using EVGA's cards for quite a while. The last one I purchased is an EVGA MX 4000. Current cost ~$70. It's probably marginal for some, but it does a fine job at my workplace and at home, running dual 21" monitors here at work and dual Mitsubishi 2040U monitors at home. EVGA (www.evga.com) has, as you'll see if you visit their site, some cards costing significantly more. Whoopee...I buy what I need, not what makes me temporary king-of-the-dung-heap.

regards,

aj
