same here
even when i get them to behave they don't really work when there are
wires stacked up
the wire above the net labels is too close to the negation overbar
i use a leading /
is there any downstream trouble with that character ?

I have never been able to make negation bars behave correctly in
Protel. I stopped using them years ago.
What I use now is a minus sign '-' in front of the net name to indicate
negation. For example, a low-true RAM chip select signal is "-CSRAM".
Some texts use a pound symbol '#' for negation: "#CSRAM". Other texts
use a lowercase 'n': "nCSRAM".

Every once in awhile it seems, when we print a schematic, the active
low bar
(above the pin name etc) doesn't show correctly. These bars end up off in
space, and are much longer than would actually be necessary to cover the
name. The computer screen shows them correctly though. Has anybody
else come
across this issue? Short of switching to another way of indicating the
active state, is there another way around this? It sure makes
schematics fun
to read when random lines criss-cross actual connections.
We've already tried different printer drivers and schematics.
