First - SP4 cannot be run by itself. It is only intended to update an
Altium Desginer installation that already has all the previous service
packs installed. If you downloaded SP4 from the Altium web site, all you
got was the update - it is not a complete installation. The correct
sequence of installation is: DXP2004, then SP2 (SP2 is cumulative and
contains SP1), then SP3, and finally SP4.
If you requested a Demo disk from Altium, it will come with one or more of
the service packs already installed - which it has will be marked on the
disk and/or jacket.
Second - you should look at the Altium Knowledge Base with respect to
parallel ports for computers without one. Try as a starting place:

I wish Altium would fix this problem. Any suggestions?

If you say it require a parallel port to do the new installation, how
did you do
that? SP4 will only update SP3, so you must have installed something
before now.
I also have a Sony Vaio (620 I think) and it doesn't have a parallel port, but
AD installed just fine.
