Hello Kurtis,

A quick way to do this is as follows;

Place an area fill on the top copper layer that covers the entire board (it'll
short everything out)(you may need to do this on the top and bottom to get all
the connections)

Select 'connected copper

Delete the area fill

Copy the selection using a definite reference point like 0,0

Delete the selection

Paste the selection back

The pasted primitives should pick up the net names from the device pads

Subject: [PEDA] importing schematic and pcb files from Protel Autotrax
toProtel99se

Hello,

I have some schematics and pcb files that were generated with a very old protel
and I want to import them to Protel99se.

- schematics were created with Protel Schematic - Design Program v3.31
- PCB's were created with Protel Autotrax - PCB Layout Program v1.61 ND

These are DOS programs with copyrights around 1990.

I have imported the files into Protel99se and everything is fine except for the
Net connections.
After updating the PCB, all the traces and vias still show "No Net".
However, all the device pins (ie: the source of the Nets) show the proper Net.
I have been unable to get the traces and vias to accept any Nets.

Does anyone know how to do this?
(other than manually inputting the Net into each trace and via one at a time)

regards,
Kurtis
