well i got AD 6.0 !

it comes in a real nice looking box

the 'if you break this seal' thing on the CDs was pre-broken, so i guess
i am not bound :)

other than a brief foray w/ DXP when it first came out and a bit later
w/ SP1 i basically skipped over that whole generation (i was highly
unimpressed)

but now looking at this 6.0 for only an hour or so so far i must say it
looks quite impressive, albeit quite daunting

there are zillions of screens and panels but they really did some things
that look appealing:

there are net labels printed along all the tracks

truetype fonts on the PCB (more than a glossy feature really as it
allows languages and 'negative' printing)

the flip view allows editing flipped

the smart paste looks useful AND productivity enhancing

you can move stuff by typing a relative co-ord which i really like as an
old time acad'er

the single layer view is way better with the 3 modes it now offers

the preserve track angle looks real impressive in their movie demo, this
looks like it could save REAL time if you watch their movie

the installation and license drill all went without a hitch

the heads up display thingy looks dandy, not sure if it is really useful
yet though

2 things i didn't see which i really would like (unless i missed them):

a TEXT BOX type entry for PCB for notes and tables
(is it there ?)

a way to put notes on the schematic but not necessarily distribute or
print them - not sure how this could be implemented though -
this is for things like current ratings or musings about performance or
problems or thoughts about future ideas and changes or options
i realize these could be put elsewhere but IMHO it would be great on the
working sch prints
something like a show/hide for sch text boxes would work for me

now i hardly know where to start!
i have a large project looming and it could use the multi channel stuff
but i am very leery about adopting this new tool as i am a babe in these
  woods,
i can't afford to slip the schedule while i make mistakes and learn
about this beast which is quite a bit more complicated that 99SE

what to do, what to do .... ?
