Bill,
 
DXP will import a netlist .  AD6 will not unless you use the latest service 
pack ( yes Virginia there is a new release for AD6).  The command is Project , 
Show Differenced, Advanced mode, pick the netlist and pick the PCB.  Both 
Netlist and PCB must reside in same project.  
 
You are correct you can not IMPORT a netlest anymore.  That feature went away 
witth DXP.   Shame on Altium for taking this out.  Shame on Altium that I had 
to point out that they completely removed loading a foreign netlist into AD6.   
They tell me they have put it back in
