Brian,
        If I remember correctly there is a CSV to Pin Server or Basic script 
out there somewhere (Protel Yahoo Group?). That would be the most automated 
method I know of for doing large pin count symbols. With it you can typically 
use Acrobat Reader to select the pins and pin numbers from the PDF datasheet 
using the "Table Formatted text Select Tool" then create the CSV file from that 
copied data. Last that I remember though, I could never get it to import the 
pin types (Input, Output, etc.) correctly.
