I would suspect a hardware or software problem now.

Hardware problem such as bad RAM or over heating
(dirty fans, underpowred PSU), marginal or failing
component, etc.

Software problems could include corrupted Windows
installation, software conflict (as someone else
mentioned, anti-virus software could do this),
bad/incorrect hardware drivers, etc.

To start, I would recommend running Windows Memory
Diagnostic or Memtest86. Then run the Prime95 torture
test. This would at least give you an idea of your
hardware stability. (All free programs, you can locate
them via Google)
