Okay,
maybe I was expecting something that never existed. In exploring since
my first post I have discovered that while the underscores are not showing in
the main drop down menus, they do display in the pop-up menus after hitting the
first hotkey. (i.e. hit "p" for place, the pop-up menu has the appropriate
letter for the next command level underlined.) Is that all there ever was? Was
I looking for, thinking about, something that never existed, the underlines
under the key letters of the drop down menus?

Hi Guys,
Here is one that has me mystified. Seems that sometime in recent
history our Protel P99SE installs (a large number of them anyway) have lost the
hotkey underscoring in the menus. Now that we have a new user trying to learn
the package we can't instruct him to watch for the underscored letters as
hotkeys because the underscores just do not appear on the normal menu items.
