Carlos Dan and AJ are correct with their replies, refer to IPC 2221, IPC 275, or Mil Std 275. Don't try to second guess the spacing. 9 times out of ten our engineers have been wrong with their "seat of the pants" guestimates or with their " we did it at our last job" estimates
The IPC and Mil charts are conservative. We use them all the time and perform HI-POT test on boards.
