Hi all,
I am helping our other designer get P99SE installed on his new personal
laptop. We are seeing something that he claims has been occurring for a while
on his previous laptop. Normally around here all of our installs are through
a network license. On his personal computer we are installing it standalone and
using a single seat activation code.
The problem is that within DRC rules set-up, on Clearance rules scope,
Object Kind. When Object Kind is selected we do not see an option to make the
Object Kind a Keepout. All the other object checkboxes are there including
Vias, SMD Pads, Tracks/Arcs, Thru-hole Pads, Fills and Polygons. No Keepout
checkbox nor the associated text. Normally this particular checkbox resides
just to the right of the "s" in Fills. Nothing, no sign of the Keepout as a
selectable Object Kind. The existing 6 choices under Object Kind are equally
spaced and justified across the selection box/outline. There is no blank spot
where the "Keepout" is missing.
My first thought was this is possibly a "Large Fonts" problem. However
his laptop doesn't have "Large Fonts" enabled. He had this "feature" on his
last laptop also, he wants to get rid of the problem because it limited his
effectiveness working on his laptop from home when he was getting close to
finishing a design. The other interesting detail was that any design
transferred from work to the home system and then back to work, had the Object
kind scope blanked (looking at the rules list there would just be a blank scope
where previously it had been "Keepouts") when it was returned to a work
computer.
Any ideas?
Sincerely,
Brad Velander
