Unfortunately, return addresses are often the most dubious tracks a spammer leaves behind, as they are the simplest field to alter. And even then, spammers employ a guerilla method of opening an account, sending, then closing said account and opening another. In fact, many say that a large number of major ISPs are in cahoots with these dickheads, much like the entertainment industry's quiet collusion with the underworld.
