This is an area where we might be able to enhance PEGs by leveraging Steedman's work on CCGs which map complex NL surface structures directly to logical forms that could be of use in a PL context --- a topic we hope to take up at The IEUC in future research as soon as we can find someone with a grounding in both grammar theories who can make the call on their degree of potential compatibility.

Besides an unfortunate similarity in notation, there isn't any immediate compatibility between the two formalisms. A serious study could attempt to find deeper connections, but the connections seem likely to be roughly the same as the ones with context-free grammars.

On the subject of notation, I'm afraid it's way too late to change things (the PEG ordered choice notation comes from Birman's work), but "/" traditionally denotes language right quotient and is consistently used as such in categorial grammars. A proposal for a replacement would be "||", with the well-known C semantics. OK, just a small rant :/
