Atila, List,

>From a rank amateur’s understanding of quantum logic (I am definitely out
of my element here), what strikes me as decisive in your abstract is
exactly the turn towards Peircean triadicity. You appear to me to be
arguing that the lattice program of Birkhoff and von Neumann and the
further refinements
of Heelan (none of which I have any knowledge of) appear to function mainly
as programs 'on the way' to more solid advances. These will require what Peirce
had already determined: that *relations are ontologically primary and
irreducibly triadic*.

In your view the inadequacy of dyadic formalisms seems to be not just a
technical limitation but a categorial one: Better understanding quantum
phenomena demands precisely the kind of triadic, mediated structures Peirce
developed in logic. Seen in this way, contemporary approaches need to
develop maths capable of expressing Peirce’s core insight: intelligibility
lies in the lawful (i.e., involving 3ns) development of relations that
can't be decomposed into dyadic terms.

What I take from your abstract is that quantum theory is beginning to
grapple with Peirce's logic and has recently acquired the formal resources
to catch up to him.

It would be great if at some point you might find an opportunity to again
take up these ideas in this forum, hopefully in layman's terms (if that's
even possible).

Best,

Gary R
