It has tremendous implications in all sorts of fields including all aspects of computerized language. As you listen to it, simultaneously have the Closed Captions on which - though it is TOTALLY moronic - has the virtue of making Lakoff's enunciated words clear, keeping them retained in memory, and experimenting with the very ideas he is talking about! If the word processor text he was reading from was available, it might be better - but that would be a great subject for an experiment would it not? You may have to listen to this two or three times. Do not get suckered in, but I think you will find Lakoff's ideas, as I myself have found them in the past, infinitely suggestive if not perfectly valid in some variable literal sense - or both!
