I wasn't thinking about thinking exactly. When I think about thinking I
think of Descartes who equates existence with thinking. Thinking to me is a
conscious act which is alert to the ethical and aesthetic dimensions of
existence. When I consider thinking, I consider a three-fold movement from
sign through index to symbol (or action or expression). Considering what I
call binary thinking, I would categorize that as a degenerate mode when it
is applied to matters require a triadic process reach completion.
