LNG Training Record Book

(10 February, 2006)

Seagull is very happy to announce completion of Training Record book for LNG personnel for all officer ranks. This training record book is developed according to the new guidance and suggested best practice for the LNG industry in the 21st century as developed and published by SIGTTO - (Society of International Gas Tanker & Terminal Operators)

At the present there is an absence of industry accepted operational training standards specifically for officers serving on LNG vessels. Based on this need from the industry SIGTTO commenced a project early 2005 in order to develop structure guidance for recommended competence. The work was completed and approved by SIGTTO board November 2005.

The standards are not considered to be incapable of improvement and SIGTTO encourages individual operators to consider any additional or more appropriate standards that may be suitable, to their specific operations, ships or trades. These standards have been written using the "competence based methodology" which is used in STCW and widely throughout industry in general.

Seagull has acquired the right to use the content in the new SIGTTO Training Standards as basis for a training record book implemented in the Seagull Competence software. Any future upgrades will be available in the regular upgrades of the Seagull Training Administrator with the competence module

For each of the defined competence items there are defined guidelines for both the candidate and assessor on how to satisfy each of the items. This includes reference to relevant SIGTTO and other industry publications and guidelines when required.

For additional information on how to evaluate and to learn more about how you can use this comprehensive content and the Seagull Competence Management software, please contact Seagull at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
