A good employee will not need any agent or broker to find a job, the company he 
works for will normally keep him employed and releasing him only when they have 
to. 

Apart from it the colleagues whom employee used to work with will always look 
for this type of person to work with him again and again o the same vessel, 
and/or they will be recommending him to a prospective employers who has the 
openings. 

So, if you think you are good  seafarer, having confidence with your capability 
and knowing a plenty of ship owners who can employ you directly then you don't 
need to go through a broker to get a job, however if you still need a broker to 
get you a job than you should also understand the situation being faced by the 
brokers, they need to run their business, paying office staffs, communication 
bills, electricity etc.

Dear seafarer....

Nowadays most of brokers/agents invites a lot of seamen to join their company 
and distributed to main company who has gave them chans(channels of crew 
requitment).With a beautifully words,giving nice promises,etc. 

Eventhough,the truth that main company didn't need a cost(Charge money),But 
they 

still ask a lot of money from seamen with various value,such as 30 percent of 
first salary,etc.
Beside that,one of promises them is "contract 3 months" but when the crew has 
joined 3 months or more,no crew change o/b.whereas,he has applied to main 
company for signing off but he just said pls wait no changer.Here the brokers 
just quite when heard his sigh/sadness....
Actually,There are so many complaint from seamen if we'll talk about that,but i 
think just enough.
