     At the risk of hogging the net, let me repeat a
suggestion I made some time ago on this net which some 
actually followed for awhile, but which seems to have 
drifted out of use again.
     For any message longer than a page, give some idea
at the top of the message of its length, e.g. # of paragraphs
or even # of lines which can be counted and listed before
sending.  Or at a minimum, "fairly short," "very long." etc.
