The Fifth Conference on Rural and Farm Women in Historical Perspective will be held December 1-4, 1994, at the National 4-H Conference Center, Chevy Chase, Maryland (suburban Washington, DC). The purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for shared discussion of immediate issues facing rural and farm women and policymakers and the historical and social science context of those issues offered by researchers. The program committee has planned a mix of roundtables, workshops, traditional academic papers, plenary sessions, and speakers involving rural and farm women, rural and farm organization leaders and field practitioners, historians and other social scientists. At least one open session is planned to allow conference attendees not on the formal program to share work in progress, community projects, upcoming grants and pilot programs, and other topics related to the purpose of the conference.
