The URPE at ASSA Program Committee invites participation in
the program of the Union for Radical Political Economics (URPE) at
the annual meeting of the Allied Social Science Associations
(ASSA), January 6-8, 1995, in Washington, DC.
As a rule sessions of URPE at ASSA present three papers with
at least one discussant and a chair. We seek proposals for
complete sessions and for individual presentations, and interested
persons to serve as discussants and chairs. The URPE at ASSA
Program now requires that all participants be members of URPE.
Complete Sessions: Proposals for complete sessions should include
two copies of a listing of the session title, chair, order of
presentation and, for each paper two copies of an abstract (with
title and author's name) sufficiently descriptive for evaluation
(not more than 250 words) and one copy of each available draft.
Also, we especially solicit suggestions for the URPE plenary
sessions for the 1995 Washington, DC, program.
Individual Presentations: Proposals for individual presentations
should include two copies of an abstract of the paper and if
already available, one copy of a draft.
Chairs and Discussants: Well prepared chairs and discussants are
vital for a successful program. It is essential that URPE members
volunteer for such assignments. If you are willing to participate
as a chair or discussant (whether or not you are proposing a paper)
please indicate your interest area(s) on the program registration
form.
Deadlines: The deadline for receipt of complete proposals by the
URPE at ASSA Program Committee is May 20, 1994. Please note that
a completed copy of the Program Registration Form and the URPE at
ASSA registration fee of $20.00 are required for each proposed
participant (presenters, discussants and chairs). Non-members must
also add membership fee. We do NOT accept registration by e-mail
or FAX. If participants are proposing to be in more than one
session, they need only submit $20.00 (plus membership fee if non-
member). Checks should be made payable to the "URPE at ASSA
Program Committee". As we anticipate receiving a large number of
meritorious proposals, only complete proposals received on time can
be considered. Those who are submitting proposals for complete
sessions should submit $20.00 for each participant.
The program committee will evaluate all proposals, strive to
organize individual papers into coherent sessions, and assign
chairs and discussants where needed. Program notification letters
will be sent in August. Fees for proposals not accepted are
refundable.
It is expected that finished papers will be presented, that
copies will be available to the audience, and that discussants will
receive the papers in ample time for thoughtful analysis. Copies
of the paper to be presented must be received by URPE at ASSA
Program Committee and all participants in your session no later
than November 15, 1994.
If you wish to participate, the Program Registration Form
should be completed and returned by May 20, 1994. Include a check
for $20.00 per participant (plus membership fee for non-members)
payable to "URPE at ASSA Program Committee" to:

NOTICE: A new policy has gone into effect this year. All
presenters, chairs, and discussants in URPE at ASSA sessions must
join URPE in order to present. Information on membership is
included on the Program Registration Form.
