Don't forget THE WAR which is not only severely anti-Vietnam but very good around racial politics in the South. An underappreciated movie worth seeing. Along the lines of moviews whose politics the media may not have been able to accept, I recommend highly TALES FROM THE HOOD, a "horror" film that crosses Boys from the Hood with Tales from the Crypt. The politics in the movie were quite interesting, with strong attacks police brutality, spousal abuse, posing politicians using racial divisions, and attacks on black-on-black violence. Rent it when it comes out on video. --nathan
