Doug, is the "terrible conference on gloablization" that you refer to the same mentioned in D. Shniad's forward from Peacenet, with Ralph Nader, Vandana Shiva and JohnCavanagh, among others? I was going to listen to the conference on the web site posted in the message, but maybe I'd like to hear first if it's (in your opinion) worth while. What was "terrible" about it?
