Particular attention will be focused on conflicts and tensions between socialist ideology and black nationalist ideology, and the synthesis which has been variously described as left nationalist, progressive nationalist, or revolutionary nationalist ideology. Yusuf Nuruddin, a sociologist/social psychologist, has taught at Medgar Evers College and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
