A New York Times article "Rich Are Getting Richer, but Not the
Very Rich" 3-13-96 reported that the top 1% of American households
share of the wealth dropped to 30.4% in 1992 from 37.1% in 1989.
(This Federal Reserve Study is only done every 3 years.)

The article indicated that many economists were concerned with
the accuracy of the results this time around. This study is the most
comprehensive of its kind in the U.S.

Can any of our economists out there give me any further information
about the accuracy of the study, or if accurate the reasons for the
change. It certainly wasn't the tax structure!
