Under the pretext of opposing the government of Iraq's "oppression"
of its own people, U.S. imperialism has given itself the right to
intervene in the internal affairs of Iraq and commit every kind of
aggression against the Iraqi people. Having failed to receive a
rubber-stamp from the Security Council of the United Nations for
its latest cruise missile attacks against Iraq, U.S. imperialism is
gathering stealth bombers in the region in order to prepare for
further aggression.
Their latest pretext is that the Iraqi defence system was
activated and used a missile against two U.S. pirate planes whose
role according to the U.S. is to "guarantee a safe haven" for the
"Kurdish people."
This latest manoeuvre of U.S. imperialism which will almost
certainly result in another military attack against Iraq is the
most dangerous of this recent period. Using hundreds of CIA agents
on the ground in Northern Iraq, the latest antics of the U.S. are
designed to encourage the people of the region to fight with one
another.
U.S. imperialism is conniving with various forces in the
region under the hoax of "defending" this or that. This manoeuvre
to get the people in the region to fight with one another places
U.S. imperialism in the position of a puppeteer who arms and
finances various servants to do its bidding. This will also
encourage other imperialist powers to become involved in the
region, creating the conditions for a much broader conflict.
It is high time that all justice and peace-loving people
raised their voices against the U.S. imperialist sabre-rattling and
interference, which is threatening the people of the region with
internecine war. People must demand that the U.S. imperialists and
other imperialist powers get out of the region and let the people
settle their affairs amongst themselves. They must smash the
disinformation which is continuously being spread by official
circles and through the media, as if U.S. imperialism is interested
to protect the people of Iraq, the Kurdish people or any other
people. U.S. imperialism means aggression and war. It is
reactionary through and through.
People must condemn U.S. imperialism as the instigators of the
conflicts in the Persian Gulf area and demand that, along with all
other foreign powers, they must get out of the region. Lasting
peace will come about only when it is the people who control their
own affairs and all imperialists have been thrown out.
